An editioned work
The numerator identifies this impression; the denominator states an edition of eight. It does not necessarily tell you the order in which impressions were printed.

Every print in the Makwande collection is an original, hand-printed, limited-edition work by a student, signed and numbered by the artist. An original print is an artwork conceived through a printmaking process, not simply a photograph or reproduction of another artwork.
Prints are clearbase back-mounted with a clear protective cover, ready for framing. A print can exist in an edition of multiple original impressions. A monotype usually produces one principal impression. Explore the mediums to see how their processes differ.
Every sale benefits the student artist directly.
Details on ordering, payment and delivery are being finalised and will appear here soon. In the meantime, please contact us about any print.

An artist's proof sits outside the numbered edition. Ask about the number of proofs and any differences from the edition.
A work recorded as an edition of one is unique. Monotypes may also have a lighter ghost impression; ask the artist about any related impressions.

Use acid-free mounts and UV-protective glass. The print must not touch the glass; a mount or suitable spacer keeps the surface protected.
